2nd Annfield Plain Scouts

2nd Annfield Plain Scouts is home to the thriving sections of:
Squirrel Scouts (4-6 years old)
Beaver Scouts (6-8 years old)
Cub Scouts (8-10 years old) and
Scouts (10-14 years old.
It is also the HQ for Derwentside District's Explorer Scouts (14-18 years).

One of only a small number of Scout groups in Derwentside, we are based in Annfield Plain and take young people from surrounding areas including but not exclusively from Annfield Plain, Stanley and Lanchester. The Scouts welcomes girls as well as boys.

We are all volunteers who believe in the potential of young people and are proud to be part of such an inspirational and transformational charitable movement. You can be involved as much or as little as you wish, and a warm welcome awaits you.

Scouting offers enormous satisfaction to volunteers, who make a real difference to the lives of young people and the community. It's also great experience for anyone looking to undertake teacher training, social work, and fostering or adoption.

The mission of Scouting is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, and has been empowering them to make a positive contribution to society since 1908. From crafts, cooking, science experiments and games; to den building, camping, climbing, kayaking and hiking - all offering different opportunities and supporting resilience, teamwork and leadership; to behind the scenes admin. and governance - we have something you can get involved with. Join us - and be part of something incredible.
