The Scouts is completely volunteer run and section teams spend many hours planning and running sessions and activities on top of the day job and family life. Additional cleaning duties adds more time to evening sessions.
By helping with the burden of keeping our hut, (including small carpeted hall, kitchen and toilets) clean, you will be helping the Leaders who already do so much.
You will help us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
We are a friendly, inclusive, dedicated and supportive team and would love you to join us, in any capacity you might be able to help.
We need someone to help us keep the hut organised and clean as it is used by 4 - 18 year olds on a weekly basis and has a heavy footfall during the week. E.g. this includes:
Priority areas:
Kitchen - floor, sinks, surfaces
Toilets - floor, sinks, toilets
Nice to have help with:
Hall - vacuuming carpet,
Cleaning windows
Kitchen - re-organisation and storage solutions.
No experience or skills necessary, just enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference to both the children and adult volunteers.
Scout Hut HQ, Annfield Plain, near Stanley in County Durham.
Whether you'd like to help out week-after-week or whenever-you-can, we need you. If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK too as we appreciate any time you can spare.
There is a flexibility to pop in to help whenever is convenient for you, as the hut is largely not in use during the day, Wednesday evenings or weekends.
Whatever you need, we can support.
All equipment and materials will be provided.
You can feel great about making a real difference to children and adult volunteers.
Satisfaction about creating a safe, comfortable and inviting environment.
Be part of an inspirational and international movement.
Positively impact your community
The eternal gratitude of all the adult volunteers!
The Scout hut does have stepped access.
