Volunteer Xmas Santas and Elves for Weardale Railway

Put Santa and some fun-loving elves on a heritage train travelling between Stanhope and Wolsingham and we have got a Christmas treat that families will love.
If you can help bring the magic alive by gifting your time and volunteer to be an ELF then read on.

Meeting Santa and the Elves will take place over 14 days of festive operation.
There will be 4 trains per day except Christmas Eve with trains departing Stanhope at 1030, 1240, 1450 and 1700 .

Responsibilities

There is music on the train, don’t panic you don’t have to sing or dance!! You will have been kitted out in the right costume. The Elves will be organising people on the platform

Skills & Qualities

• Over 18
• Is a punctual time keeper
• Has customer care experience (not essential)
• Is able to follow instructions
• Is Health & Safety Conscious
• Wants to have fun
• Is a good team player
• Is a good Communicator
• Has a neat personal appearance
• Has the ability to be non-judgemental and acknowledge an individual's right to space


When & Where?

Stanhope Station Meeting Santa and the Elves will take place over 14 days of festive operation.
There will be 4 trains per day except Christmas Eve with trains departing Stanhope at 1030, 1240, 1450 and 1700 .

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

The Auckland Project is unable to reimburse travel expenses.

Volunteer Benefits

All Volunteers are able to access the Visitor Attractions in Bishop Auckland on normal opening days with the volunteer annual pass.
