Volunteer Receptionist

Durham City

We are looking for volunteers to support us with the day to day running of our busy reception.

Responsibilities

• Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors to the Hospice
• Meeting visitors as they enter the Hospice and alerting staff when necessary
• Where appropriate, taking visitors to the relevant areas of the Hospice
• Directing parcels/deliveries and informing the appropriate member of staff on their arrival.
• Answering incoming telephone calls and transferring them to the relevant members of staff. Taking messages when necessary and forwarding them via email

When & Where?

Times are one slot per week - Monday to Friday
8.30am - 11.30am
11.30am - 2.30pm
2.30pm – 5.00pm

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

There are no specific skills or training required to undertake this role, as full induction and training will be provided, but we would suggest that you have basic IT skills. Support will be available from the Central Support team.

Any agreed out of pocket expenses that are incurred when carrying out the volunteer role will be reimbursed
