Move Mates is a walking buddy project. We pair people who struggle to get out on their own, with one of our wonderful volunteers, for a regular walk.
Move Mates is for adults of all ages and can help people with short-term goals such as building confidence to get to new places, or with longer-term support to improve physical, mental, and emotional health outcomes.

Responsibilities

We need volunteers to help run the Move Mates project. From ID checking new volunteers, to making monitoring calls with beneficiaries or checking walk logs, there are plenty of administrative tasks to get involved with.

Skills & Qualities

You need compassion, good communication and be empathetic to people from all walks of life.
Computer literate, organised and good communication skills/comfortable talking on the phone

When & Where?

Anywhere you have access to a computer and a phone.
30 minutes to 8 hours per week - put in as many/little hours as you'd like.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

We'd ask you to complete 2 online modules:
1. "Move the Masses Volunteer Essentials"
2. "Move Mate Volunteer Training"
