This volunteer role will support the development of our food and beverage team as we grow and progress our visitor offer with the provision of delicious food to tempt our visitors.
The activities include transporting delicious delights from our Central Kitchen in Shildon to destinations serving our visitors in and around Bishop Auckland. A great opportunity for someone who likes driving, loves food, wants to help pave the way in developing this activity and is seeking a more active volunteering role.
Undertaking all training and briefings required for the role
Driving the delivery vehicle
Making sure that the vehicle is ok to use
Picking, prioritising & loading produce
Supporting with the presentation standards of the vehicle
Ensuring our delicious delights are loaded in line with our procedures
Reporting of all vehicle faults and defects
Complying with Road Traffic Legislation & Highway Code
Food tasting (sounds delicious)
Have loads of enthusiasm
Are within age range 25-70 (for insurance purposes)
Have a full clean car driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years
Have good verbal communication and organisational skills
Are willing to undertake training and ongoing monitoring to maintain a high-quality standard
Be able to undertake tasks independently
Are fairly fit
Will adhere to TAP policies and procedures including H&S and Safeguarding (An induction will help to cover this)
Has the ability to be non-judgemental and acknowledge an individual’s right to space
Has a neat personal appearance
Ideally is First aid trained (this is desirable not a requirement)
Having a flexible approach to time management is key. We would prefer people who can commit to at least once a week, but this is a suggestion and we are happy to discuss this further with you.
This volunteering activity will be available Wednesday to Sunday (from March 2022) picking up and delivery estimated to be between 9am and 11am on each activity shift.
You will be asked to provide and wear appropriate clothing and footwear, role/activity dependent.
The Auckland Project is unable to reimburse travel expenses.
