Laundry Assistant

Durham City

As a Laundry Volunteer you will help to ensure that the Hospice laundry is clean, pressed and ready for use. Your support helps our staff to be ready to care for our patients and ensures that our patients have a comfortable visit or stay.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all linen is pressed using the rotary iron, following instructions given,
• Putting linen in the correct places in the laundry room
• Ensuring that the laundry room is kept clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times

Skills & Qualities

There are no specific skills or training required to undertake this role, as full induction and training will be provided.

When & Where?

To be discussed with Guest Services Manager but ideally once per week.

2- 3 hour shifts available Monday – Saturday 10.00am – 4.00pm

In our laundry room at St Cuthbert's Hospice.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Support will be available from the Guest Services Manager and other members of the Guest Services team.

Any agreed out of pocket expenses that are incurred when carrying out your volunteer role will be reimbursed.
