We need you to help us with the smooth running of our kitchen to provide catering for our patients, guests, visitors, staff and volunteers. The support you provide will help to enable those living with life-limiting illness who use Hospice services to live well and make every day count.
Carry out tasks as instructed by the Catering Coordinator which aid the preparation of meals, using appropriate methods
• Assist with the provision and distribution of beverages and food to our coffee shop
• Ensure excellent standards of hygiene are maintained at all times
• Ensure a high level of personal hygiene
• Ensure that health and safety procedures are adhered to
• Maintain confidentiality in all Hospice matters
Ideally you should have an interest in food preparation and cooking.
Basic cooking skills would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
Our available shifts are Mon - Sun, 9am - 2pm here at the Hospice. See address below.
We value our volunteers and want your experience to be both positive and fulfilling. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and any appropriate instruction, guidance or training to assist you in your volunteer role. We ask that any essential training is completed either prior to you starting with us or within three months of starting.
You will have an opportunity to learn new skills, build social networks, share experiences and skills and be recognised for the contribution you make.
Any agreed out of pocket expenses that are incurred when carrying out your volunteer role will be reimbursed.
