Supports: Hub staff, artists, facilitators, and participants
Activity Support Volunteers help create a welcoming, inclusive, and well-run environment at the Artists Hub. This general support role involves meeting and greeting visitors, helping sessions run smoothly, and offering friendly support to participants, artists, and facilitators. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a vibrant and developing community space.
Welcome & Front‑of‑House Support
Meeting and greeting visitors, participants, and artists
Helping people feel welcome, comfortable, and supported
Signposting visitors to activities, spaces, or staff as needed
Session & Activity Support
Assisting staff and facilitators before, during, and after sessions
Helping set up and tidy activity spaces
Supporting participants during sessions when needed (e.g. handing out materials, offering encouragement)
General Hub Support
Helping maintain a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment
Supporting a range of creative, wellbeing, and community activities
Working as part of a friendly team of staff and volunteers
Health, Safety & Inclusion
Following basic health and safety guidance
Being mindful of accessibility and supporting people from different backgrounds
Knowing when to refer questions or concerns to staff
No prior experience is required

We aim to fit around your availability
We ask Volunteers to take online essential training modules, and then training is dependent on the role/area. Induction sessions form part of the training.
Regrettably we can not reimburse travel expenses at this time.
Volunteers are issued with an annual pass for themselves to our visitor attractions within Bishop Auckland.
The Artist Hub is at No 43 Market Place, it is accessible, near carparks and bus routes
