As a Volunteer Support Worker, you'll have a unique opportunity to inspire, guide, and support young people in their learning journey.

Responsibilities

Engaging in group mentoring sessions
Assisting with educational activities and projects both onsite and offsite
Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere
Encouraging personal development and building self-esteem
Collaborating with our dedicated team to design engaging learning experiences

Skills & Qualities

Enthusiasm for working with young people
Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
Commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment
Experience in mentoring, teaching, or working with young people is a plus as well as the intention to work within this vocational area in the future
A Clear Enhanced DBS will be required
Driving License and access to a car would be beneficial

When & Where?

Etherley, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
We have opportunities on a Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday
We would expect the Volunteer to be able to work 9.15-2.30pm on any one day so there is consistency for our young people.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

All volunteers will complete a full induction , including safeguarding and health & safety . Following this, volunteers will be provided with role specific training to support the individual with their volunteering role. Any relevant training would be offered as and when needed
Expenses would include any out of pocket costs such as bus fares/fuel/meals as long as this has been agreed prior with the Directors.
