Volunteering from Home

We need someone to prepare the Whats’ On part of our weekly recordings.

Responsibilities

You will check reputable internet sites and download details of any events which might appeal to our listeners, put them in a word processing document and send them to the office.


Skills & Qualities

You must be reliable, have good PC skills and, because this is a volunteer from home opportunity, have access to a PC and the internet.

When & Where?

Details of these events must arrive at the office either by email or hard copy by 9.30am each Wednesday. They will be read and recorded that afternoon/ evening.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Full training will be given.

The Darlington & District Talking Newspaper (DDTN) is a charity providing local news and general information to people who are unable to read a newspaper for themselves, either because of visual impairment or another disability.

Every Wednesday we record the local news and other information of interest to our listeners. On Thursday CDs or memory sticks are sent to our listeners and recordings are uploaded to our website darlingtontalkingnewspaper.uk and the British Wireless for the Blind Funds' smartphone app.
