As a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping FareShare North East reduce food waste and fight hunger by supporting the daily operations of the warehouse. Your work will help ensure surplus food is sorted, packed, and prepared for delivery to charities, schools, and community groups across the region.
Your contribution will help ensure that good quality surplus food is sorted and prepared for delivery to
those who need it most, making a direct impact on hunger and food waste in local communities.
Key Responsibilities:
-Sort and organise incoming food deliveries.
-Pick and pack food orders for distribution to local partners.
-Ensure food is stored safely and according to hygiene standards.
-Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
-Work as part of a team to support smooth warehouse operations.
Skills:
-Aged 18 or over.
-Physically able to lift and move food crates.
-Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
-Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
-Committed to supporting communities and reducing food waste.
