Volunteer Yard Gardener

Our Community Cafe brings people together by providing a welcoming environment and a safe space for people to be. From a cuppa and a chat, to help with any personal issues people may face, staff are there to oversee the delivery of activities and provide its service to the community. Our volunteer yard gardener will keep the cafes yard and surrounding area spick and span so that everyone attending is welcomed to a well kept space!

Responsibilities

Taking a hands-on role in maintaining and developing our outdoor space located around the cafe, to create a vibrant and welcoming space for the community.

Regular gardening tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, watering, and potting a variety of different flowers and plants.

Skills & Qualities

An interest and enthusiasm for gardening.

A basic knowledge of gardening or previous gardening experience.

Friendly and approachable to members of our community.


When & Where?

Lipscomb Hall, Cockfield, Bishop Auckland, DL13 5DL.

The times and commitment of the role are flexible to fit around the volunteers own commitments.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

All volunteers will complete a full induction training with our volunteer coordinator, covering volunteering safely, safeguarding, health and safety, and manual handling. Following this, volunteers will be provided with role specific training to support the individual with their volunteering role.
