Volunteer Live Chat Operator

To provide confidential emotional support and signposting over live chat (typed messages online) to survivors of sexual violence.

Responsibilities

Responding to written messages from survivors of sexual violence in real time. Using a range of skills to provide emotional support, and signposting to resources or other organisations where appropriate. Full training and useful information will be provided. Skills & Qualities

No qualifications are needed as full training is provided.
Experience and skills in providing emotional support to others are beneficial

When & Where?

Training will be delivered through a mix of online evening sessions and in person Saturday sessions in Darlington
Volunteering will take place either at home or in our Darlington office
There will be a mix of day time and evening sessions available Mon-Fri

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

A full training course is provided prior to the role commencing
Shadowing sessions are arranged to build confidence
Quarterly volunteer development days for ongoing training/speakers/sharing best practice
Regular clinical supervision
Ongoing informal support
Annual appraisals
