We provide day services to enable young people & adults with complex learning disability to develop life and work skills and manage their health & wellbeing. The Charity is commissioned by six local authorities and the NHS, with a broad portfolio of charitable trust funding supporting specialist programmes. All 170 adults in service are referred in with a Care Support Plan, activities shaped to enable Clients to reach their aspirations, and to lead active, inclusive and fulfilling lives. The Charity celebrates 40 years of operations this year with plans for further extension of its Hubs, and progression in to PMLD services.

Responsibilities

Supporting Learning Disability Support Workers and their delivery of a range of different activities such as community outings, drama, art and craft, music, gardening , kitchen support, swimming, health and wellbeing and sport and exercise.

Skills & Qualities

We are looking for someone with a hidden talent to share and a couple of hours to spare. We particularly welcome applicants with a passion for health and exercise, creative and performing arts, gardening, cooking, metal/woodwork, DIY and crafting

When & Where?

To start as soon as possible with DBS clearance. Coundon, Bishop Auckland

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Training in Learning disability awareness, Introduction to active support, health and safety, equality and diversity and GDPR and data protection. Volunteers to be supported at all times. We offer expenses toward travel, lunch and refreshments.
