Volunteer Drivers Durham Area

Ferryhill, Bishop Auckland, Shildon, Spennymoor, Peterlee, Lanchester, Seaham, Consett, Langley Park, Chilton, Crook/Willington, Chester le Street, Meadowfield, Newton Aycliffe, Stanley, Durham City

We need local drivers to transport patients to enable them to attend appointments within our trust.


Responsibilities

Collecting patients from their home address to appointments within the Trust, and returning them home after the appointment.

Skills & Qualities

You must have access to your own vehicle for this role, it must be safe and legal to drive, and suitable for transporting patients. You must also have a full clean driving licence and business insurance for your car.

You will need to be patient and understanding, and have a friendly personality.

When & Where?

Durham area, plus perhaps some out of area opportunities occasionally, within the geographical area of Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust.

Flexible hours between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, no weekends

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Travel expenses paid 45p per mile and you will receive an additional 5p per mile per patient transported.

Volunteer Benefits

Support given from our Voluntary Services Team.
Training given, which could lead to the National Volunteer Certificate.
