Volunteer Driver

Teesdale

To provide transport and company for older people to attend their lunch club on a weekly basis.
To provide occasional transport and company for other appointments as appropriate and necessary

Responsibilities

Picking up older people from their own home and taking to their weekly lunch club (usually very local journey) and then picking up at the end of the session and dropping back at their own home.

Occasionally we need drivers to help our members to access other appointments but this is not frequent.

Skills & Qualities

Clean driving license.
Chatty and friendly personality.
Physically fit enough to gently help someone in and out of a car if they require some light assistance (all our members have to be reasonably mobile).
Flexible and adaptable.
Able to make a weekly or fortnightly commitment.
Must hold business insurance on your car under volunteering and must be willing to have an enhanced DBS check.

When & Where?

To and from our clubs which are held at Barnard Castle, Cotherstone, Evenwood, Mickleton, Middleton, Staindrop, Winston and Woodland.
Clubs run from approximately from 11-2 on different days of the week.
Journeys will largely be very local to each club.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Travel expenses are offered at 45 pence per mile
