Shildon Together is looking for caring and friendly Volunteer Befrienders to support people aged 55+ who are experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
A DBS check may be required for this role.

As a befriender, you'll provide companionship through regular visits, phone calls, or community meet-ups, helping someone feel more connected and valued.
What we're looking for:
• Friendly, reliable, and a good listener
• Able to commit some regular time
• Compassionate and respectful
Various locations:
Shildon, Eldon, Dene Valley
Over the phone befriending, at service users home (with training or whilst supporting staff), community events
• Training provided
• Uniform provided
• Mileage expenses
