The purpose of this volunteer role is to provide caring, practical, and inclusive support to children with additional needs, helping them thrive in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. Volunteers will play an important part in encouraging each child's confidence, independence, and social development by offering support and assisting with activities, and creating a welcoming space where every child feels valued. This role helps ensure that all children regardless of their abilities have equal opportunities to learn, play, and participate fully in the program.
As volunteer, you'll help children take part in activities, build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy positive social experiences. . No special experience is required just patience, kindness, and willingness to learn and helping within the groups
No experience needed. Volunteers must be over 18 and have, or be willing to obtain, a DBS check. A caring, patient and enthusiastic attitude is essential.
We run groups in Newton Aycliffe and Durham, we also host a parent/carers support group in Spennymoor.
Volunteers receive full guidance, ongoing support from staff, and any necessary training.

Our venues are accessible, and sessions take in community locations with nearby parking and public transport routes.
We are looking for volunteers to help within our children's groups, assist with small group activities, and support with fundraising and occasional, also help with funding forms.
