Treasurer for Parochial Church Council

St Catherine’s Parochial Church Council (PCC) are looking for a Treasurer to manage the churches income and expenditure and to maintain accurate records using the Diocesan Accounts Model. The Treasure would also be expected to produce monthly accounts for submission to the PCC and attend the monthly meeting and then Annual Accounts for audit.
There is very little, if any, cash counting or banking involved as this is caried out by two members of the PCC.

Responsibilities

You will enter financial information into the computer. This information will be provided by members of the PCC and will consist of collections of cash from church services including baptisms, weddings and funerals, any donations made and any income from Coffee mornings, Summer and Christmas Fairs.

Almost all expenditure is done by bank transfer with one other approved person, other than the Treasurer, authorising the transfer.

Skills & Qualities

Computer Skills
Preferably someone with accountancy experience
Someone with experience of (info of the exact package used to be provided later) This is not essential but would certainly help.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

At this moment in time we are unable to offer expenses however, we are looking to see if we can obtain funding.
Training would be given.
As a member of the PCC DBS would be required.
It would be preferable if you had your own computer.

By working with the PCC you would gain a valuable insight into the churches operation and the work that goes on within the community other than church services. You would benefit by meeting new people and perhaps getting involved in some of its outreach work. St Catherine's has several initiatives on going at the moment including the Dementia and Community Support Café, The Men’s Breakfast Club, The Bread and Butter Thing, Messy Church and others.
