Training Lead

Chilton, Crook/Willington, Chester le Street

Are you passionate about developing people to deliver care and save lives? Do you have or want to gain experience of planning and delivering training? Then you may be interested in the Unit
Training Lead role.

As Unit Training Lead, you will work alongside the Unit Manager to develop a training programme to meet the needs of your unit. You will ensure all unit members have the opportunity to build new skills and maintain existing ones to allow them to deliver life saving services in the community.

Responsibilities

Organising the Unit’s internal training/skills refreshing programme
Coordinating community training for the public (if authorised by training function)
Maintaining training records of all volunteers in unit
Booking volunteers onto regional and district run courses
Liaising with Regional and District Training as required

Skills & Qualities

Enthusiasm for the work of St John Ambulance and an appreciation of our values
An interest in coordinating quality first aid training to volunteers
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to use Microsoft® applications at intermediate level
Ability to work as part of a team or on their own initiative
Experience of either delivering training or organising training
Registered SJA Trainer (Optional)
Interest in running first aid training for the public (Optional)
Knowledge of St John Ambulance training procedures (Optional)

Opportunities exist across various sites including Willington, Chilton, Chester le Street, Darlington, and South Shields.

The training and support we will provide for you is as follows:

Welcome programme introducing you to the project & wider charity
Training in appropriate SJA policies
St John Safeguarding training relevant to your role
Role specific training
Out of pocket expenses
SJA will provide uniform in this role as appropriate.

Other Information

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaged volunteers to commit up to 6 hours per week, potentially evenings and weekends.
