Minutes secretary

A minutes secretary is currently needed by the board of trustees of the Weardale museum. The volunteer will provide support to the board by arranging meetings, taking minutes, writing up and circulating them.
Arranging meetings will involve coordinating diaries, sending out of agenda and relevant papers. The coordinator will have the same responsibilities for the AGM.
At present, meetings are held via zoom but it is expected that face to face meetings will start later this year.

Responsibilities

Meetings are usually held monthly, on a weekday evening. The secretary will be responsible for the administration in setting up meetings, will attend to take minutes and will then formulate these and circulate them to the trustees.
In addition they will organise the AGM which will include invitations to a wider group of volunteers and members of the public.

Skills & Qualities

Experience of word processing is essential.
Use of spreadsheets id desirable. As is the use of email.
Experience of minute taking is desirable.
Must have good organisational skills and the ability to work within a group of volunteers.
Internet access is essential

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Support will be offered by the trustee group.
The ability to travel to meeting venues is essential.

Other Information

Initially most work will be from home as meetings are virtual.
Attendance at face to face meetings will be required when these recommence.
All administrative work will be done from home with access to internet and email.
Must be over 18
