Committee Member Key Responsibilities
• Support delivery of activities and services
• Assist with youth sessions, events, and community centre programmes
• Help ensure activities are welcoming, inclusive, and well-organised
• Contribute ideas and feedback
• Attend committee meetings and share input on activities and improvements
• Help identify local needs and opportunities
• Community engagement
• Act as a link between the charity and the local community
• Promote activities and encourage participation
• Support events and projects
• Help plan and deliver community events, workshops, and initiatives
• Assist with setup, coordination, or volunteering where needed
• Assist with fundraising and sustainability
• Support fundraising efforts, grant applications, or local initiatives
• Help build partnerships with other organisations
• Follow policies and procedures
• Adhere to organisational policies including health & safety, equality, and safeguarding
Safeguarding Responsibilities
As the role may involve contact with children, young people, and vulnerable adults, committee members must:
• Follow the charity’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the designated safeguarding lead
• Participate in safeguarding training where required
• Understand appropriate boundaries when working with young people
Role Boundaries
• Committee members do not carry legal responsibility for the charity (this sits with the trustees)
• They must, however, work within the direction set by the trustee board.
• Any significant decisions relating to governance, finance, or compliance are made by trustees
We welcome people with a range of skills, experiences, and perspectives.
Meetings are bi monthly, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon between 4:00 pm and 6:00pm.
Reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.

You will gain leadership and governance skills, decision making and financial awareness. There will be lots of networking opportunities and you will work with and meet professionals from different sectors. Ultimately you will make a real difference in a community you care about.
