To help to run our community groups in Chilton, supporting local residents
Join in as part of the group but take on responsibilities such as, making sure refreshments are available, getting out/ preparing any equipment and resources for the group to use and putting them away correctly afterwards, acting as a mentor to group members who are struggling with issues and signposting to external partners to help with their issues, welcoming new members to the group and helping them to integrate into the group.
Work alongside Council staff with all of the above duties and report any issues that they have noticed accordingly.
Taking part in trips and outings and helping to organise events and outings.
Some experience of group work would help but is not essential.
Being able to work and communicate with people is essential and being able to talk to them and understand issues they might be facing.
Organisational skills will be an advantage although you wouldn’t be required to organise on your own.
Monday to Friday between 9-2 the day will depend on which group you would like to work with.
Groups will take place at Hutton House , there may be some work in the community and attendance on bus trips within the north east region.
You will be mentored and will report to the group organiser any appropriate training will be made available , training will be either online or within the local community.
We would need to recruit people within easy travelling distance and will discuss expenses before starting the post.
The benefits would be the opportunity to help in the community and gain experience that would help in gaining employment if that was the goal.
Volunteers will be invited on all trips available and to any events organised by Chilton town council.
There will be a formal thanks from the Mayor at an event during the year.
