Fundraising Volunteer

To support our team in developing fundraising activities for Auckland Youth and Community Centre, a much loved community hub on Woodhouse Close estate, Bishop Auckland.

Duties may involve collaborating with our Business Development Manager and wider team to develop fundraising ideas. Your support to our team could include designing and executing fundraising campaigns, and promoting online fundraising platforms such as JustGiving and EasyFundraising. Depending on your interests, you may also have the opportunity to work with our wider volunteer team or delivery team on events designed to raise funds for the centre, including family fun days.

Responsibilities

Our Youth and Community Centre benefits from the work of lots of professionals behind the scenes to make sure that we’ve got a charity which is sustainable into the future, fundraising big and small is important to us as it increases our access to unrestricted funds which is rare in the charity sector.

This is a great opportunity to experience the reality of the work involved to maintain a successful and viable charity. This role would give you scope to think big, be creative, and collaborate with our highly skilled and experienced team to fundraise.

This opportunity is open to applicants who would like to operate from our busy youth and community centre on Woodhouse Close Estate, but also open to volunteers who would like to support our operations remotely, as such we welcome applications from anyone wherever you may be based.

We are flexible in terms of the role you may play in our centre, if you’ve got a skill, hobby, or interest that you’d like to share with us we’d love to hear more about it, and we may be able to build a role around you.

No experience is needed for this role.

Personal qualities needed to be a great Fundraising Volunteer are:
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

• Good Standard of written English and communication skills

When & Where?

If you’d prefer to operate from our centre (Auckland Youth and Community Centre, Walker Drive, Woodhouse Close, DL14 6QL) you will arrange a suitable working time that suits you and our team.

There are no fixed time obligations for this role, and it’s possible to contribute remotely from anywhere with an internet connection.

We welcome volunteers who are available to commit to support us on a regular basis. We are open to flexible arrangements that suit your personal commitments.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

You will receive an induction to AYCC, including an introduction to GDPR and safeguarding. We work with all our volunteers to identify opportunities for further training and development on a one-to-one basis with our dedicated volunteer coordinator.

AYCC will reimburse any reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred by volunteers in support of the centre’s activities.

This role could be a good stepping stone for anyone looking to build their confidence or experience in fundraising. The Youth Sector and Voluntary and Community Sector has a variety of small conferences and meetings which volunteers may be invited to. Costs would be covered by AYCC for any training offered or meetings you’re invited to.
