The Durham Regatta returns in 2026 for its 193rd event across a sun-soaked weekend between the 13th and 14th of June, The Regatta sees over 2000 competitors over 2 days compete in front of over 10,000 spectators, bringing a spectacular weekend of racing and bank-side entertainment to Durham City.
The Durham Regatta is looking to recruit volunteers to help make the 193rd Durham Regatta the best yet! We want to hear from those who have a friendly personality and a passion for the outdoors and meeting new people as well as different skills and life experiences.
The Durham Regatta is a valued and integral event in the Durham City and County Durham events Calendar and adds life to an already busy riverside area. As well as this The Regatta creates an unforgettable day or weekend out for all.

The volunteer roles are ideal for someone who is volunteering for the first time or who is a seasoned professional. The Durham Regatta volunteers will;
* Assist Durham Regatta spectators with directions and Answer questions about the Regatta’s program of events.
* Working alongside Regatta staff, security teams and medical to assist in the smooth running of the event for spectators and competitors.
* Supporting with various roles across the site including, spectator's pedestrian and vehicle access gates, spectator's ticket sales and assisting our VIP spectators within our VIP area.
No previous experience is needed, must be calm under pressure
13th and 14th June 2026
We have a number of 3 hour volunteer time slots you can select one or as many as you would like.

The Regatta is located on the Durham Riverside, and on each day of the Regatta you can access the riverside via public transport via the bus stop New Elvet - Three Tuns (Durham DH1 3JT).
