Are you ready to lead our young people on an epic journey through fantasy worlds? We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer that will help organise and facilitate a Dungeons and Dragons group for our young people from our YMCA Teesdale Community Cafe in Cockfield, allowing them to explore their imagination and socialise with other children from their community.
Organising and facilitating the running of the group.
Setting up the game and putting away at the end of the session.
Ensuring all attending are having an enjoyable experience and treated fairly throughout the sessions.
An interest with past experience playing Dungeons and Dragons would be preferable, however is not necessary.
Friendly and approachable to children and young people.
Comfortable taking a lead on a group activity. Staff support will be on hand throughout until the volunteer feels confident enough to take a lead on their own.
As this is a new group that YMCA Teesdale are looking to set up, the day and time of the group can be discussed with the volunteer. The group will be located at:
Lipscomb Hall, Cockfield, Bishop Auckland, DL13 5DL.
All volunteers will complete a full induction training with our volunteer coordinator, covering volunteering safely, safeguarding, health and safety, and manual handling. Following this, volunteers will be provided with role specific training to support the individual with their volunteering role.
Opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and make a positive impact in the community.
Meet new people and build connections.
Be part of a friendly team and supported in the volunteering role.
Discount in our cafe on food and drinks.
Access to training and development as appropriate.
A full enhanced DBS with Childrens Barred List will be required for this volunteer role, at no expense to the volunteer.
