As a Volunteer Driver’s Assistant, you will support FareShare North East’s mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger by helping deliver surplus food to local charities, schools, and community groups across the region.
Your support helps ensure good quality surplus food reaches people in need, making a real difference in local communities.
Key responsibilities:
-Assist the driver with loading and unloading food crates
- Help with navigating routes and ensuring timely deliveries
- Support safe handling and storage of food during transport
- Represent FareShare North East positively when interacting with partner organisations
- Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures
Skills:
-Aged 18 and over
- Physically able to lift and carry food crates
- Reliable, punctual and a good team player
- Committed to supporting communities and reducing food waste
Flexible shifts available Monday to Friday - between 8am -3pm
