Newton Aycliffe

Driving vehicle round the streets of Newton Aycliffe on Christmas Eve

Responsibilities

The Parish of Great Aycliffe is preparing for a heart warming tradition that brings magic to the streets and joy to the hearts of children across our community. This Christmas Eve, we’re rolling out the sleighs for Santa Tours 2025 — and we’re inviting YOU to be part of the magic.

On 24th December 2025, Santa Claus will be making his rounds through Great Aycliffe, spreading festive cheer and unforgettable memories. But behind every jolly laugh and twinkling eye is a team
of dedicated volunteers who make it all possible — and this year, we need your help.

Roles We’re Looking For:

Santa (costume provided — just bring your best “Ho Ho Ho!”)
Driver (to guide the sleigh safely through town)
Navigator (to keep Santa on schedule and on route)

Whether you're a student looking to give back, a couple seeking a festive adventure, or simply someone who loves the spirit of the season — this is your chance to make a real difference. All
volunteers must be 18 or older, and just a few hours of your time could light up hundreds of little faces.

What You’ll Receive:
Free festive refreshments to keep you warm and merry
A small thank-you gift as a token of our appreciation
The priceless joy of bringing Christmas to life for local children.

So, if you’ve got a sleigh-load of festive spirit and a few hours to spare, we’d love to hear from you. Telephone 01325 300700 and ask for Judith or Rachel, we can’t wait to have a chat.

Let’s make Santa Tours 2025 the most magical one yet — because nothing says Christmas like community, kindness, and a little sparkle in the eyes of a child.
