To help maintain and develop the Community Garden within Wharton Park as a wonderful community space for everyone to enjoy

Responsibilities

Planting, propagating, tidying, pruning as per the seasons ,help with wildlife surveys, planning the evolvement of the garden. Support the Park Rangers and the Education team with their events in the Park if you wish.

Skills & Qualities

No specific gardening knowledge or skills needed but always welcome! A love of gardening and enjoyment of working with new people in the fresh air. Ability to garden safely.

When & Where?

Flexible timings and days although most members meet on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30 pm onwards.
Community Garden Wharton Park. We meet on other days particularly during the summer season.
Come along to our coffee/tea afternoons on the first Wednesday of each month April -October 2pm onwards

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Training can be provided and H& S inductions. Support from our friendly team is always available. Garden gloves are available but please wear suitable clothing warm ( when required)
Expenses other than for items purchased for the garden are not available.
