Civilian Committee Member

Newton Aycliffe

The civilian committee provides support to the uniformed team and adult volunteers that deliver the training programmes for the cadets by managing the non-public funds of the squadron. They also raise funds to enable the broadest range of activities to be delivered to cadets. In addition, they are there to provide support in any welfare issues within the squadron.
Any committee member will be required to complete a DBS check and BPSS as part of the application process.
The committee is required to meet a minimum of 4 times per year and support the squadron at other key events during the year including Annual Formal Inspection, Presentation Evening and Rememberance Sunday Parade

Responsibilities

Advising the committee on any funding opportunities that may be available.
Making funding decisions regarding the use of squadron financial reserves.
Promoting the squadron to the wider community
Identify any potential sources of support for the squadron in terms of finance, resources, or people

Skills & Qualities

No specific requirements other than a desire to help young people grow and develop into useful members of society

When & Where?

Committee meetings are held at the squadron offices in Newton Aycliffe 4 times per year.
Other key events during the year as and when.

This is a voluntary role which seeks time from the volunteer.
