As a Cheer Squad Volunteer, you will help Rainbow Trust by representing us at the Great North Run and Junior Great North Run. Our Cheer Squad Volunteer help us to raise awareness of the work that we do with children with a life-limiting condition and their families band to help raise the vital funds needed to support even more families.
• Making as much noise as possible to support our amazing sportspeople with your cheering, shouting and whistling
• Engaging with members of the public confidently
• Meeting and greeting sportspeople and their families after the event
• Supporting with setting up or packing down our cheer point
• Being an ambassador for Rainbow Trust
• Confident, friendly and outgoing
• Trustworthy, reliable and honest
• Team players
• Flexible - as we may ask you to support with a few different tasks on the day
Available to support on Sunday 13 September 2026 or
Saturday 12 September 2026 between 9-5pm
• A dedicated member of Rainbow Trust staff will guide and support you before and on the day.
• You will receive an induction to the charity and the role.
• Professional training and opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge
• We will reimburse your reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses
