Allsorts Group Facilitator

This role is to support the Community Development worker in facilitation and development of activities for the Allsorts Group. This group is aimed at individuals who may face barriers to social engagement, who may be lonely, and in need of company and stimulation. If you are a people person and passionate about opportunities for all then this is the role for you!
It is a new volunteering opportunity and we hope that successful volunteers to the role will help shape the role and bring new ideas to the group.


You will have the opportunity to help to develop and support a range of activities that the group undertake such as crafts, singing, dominoes, boules or just a cup of tea and a chat. And anything else we can think of!

The role will be supporting the Community Development worker in, preparation, planning and setting up the activity with a primary role of facilitation of the group activity. Some activities of the role may be able to be done offsite.

• Is over 18
• Is passionate about creativity in the community
• Has an outgoing nature and thrives being with people
• Is a punctual time keeper
• Is able to follow instructions and give instructions in a group setting
• Is Health & Safety Conscious
• Is a supportive team member
• Is an excellent communicator
• Has an awareness of the variety of needs that may be present in a group activity (such as physical, educational or communication needs)
• Has the ability to be supportive of a variety of needs within a session environment
• Will be able to use own initiative, particularly in engaging with participants
• Will want to be an ambassador for The Auckland Project

The Auckland Project No42 the Market Place Bishop Auckland on each Tuesday 2pm – 4pm

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

You will be asked to provide and wear appropriate clothing and footwear, role/activity dependent. The Auckland Project is unable to reimburse travel expenses.
This role will require a DBS check which will be provided.

Other Information

volunteers with The Auckland Project (TAP ) have access during opening times to the Visitor attractions, Auckland Castle, Spanish gallery, Mining Art Gallery in order to understand these visitor attractions and act as an ambassador for TAP as part of being a volunteer.
