This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of something special at Auckland Palace. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead engaging Garden Tours, helping visitors discover the beauty, history, and unique stories of these remarkable spaces.

Responsibilities

As a volunteer Tour Leader , you’ll:

-Spend time outdoors in stunning surroundings
-Inspire and connect with visitors from all walks of life
-Share fascinating insights about the gardens and their heritage
-Be part of a friendly and supportive team

Skills & Qualities

We are looking for someone who is:

• Is a punctual time keeper
• Has customer care experience
• Has tour leading or engager experience
• Is able to follow instructions
• Is able to manage their time and adhere to the brief of the Tour
• Is Health & Safety Conscious
• Is a good team player

When & Where?

Tours are offered on
Wednesdays – 1:30pm - 2.30pm
Saturdays –  1pm -2pm & 2.15 - 3.15pm

They will take place in the gardens surrounding the venue. The meeting point for the Volunteer Tour Leader and visitors will be at the Clock Tower Shop and the maximum number of attendees per tour will be limited to up to 10 persons at any one time, excluding the tour guide.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

We offer training and support in order to make sure that you are fully comfortable before you volunteer in the role independently.

Accessibility and Transport Info

The Walled Gardens are a short walk away from the bus stop with readily available transport links throughout the North-East.

The Walled Garden itself is not fully accessible.
